Progress in the UMI

In an effort to understand the growth mechanics and improve the material quality of InGaN alloys, a key material in light-emitting diodes (LEDs), laser diodes (LDs), and solar cells, the team of Dr. Ougazzaden in collaboration with Gilles Patriache’s team ( LPN-CNRS) developed a new method that quantifies the chemical information “coded” in HAADF-STEM images and produces precise mappings of the chemical composition of compound semiconductor alloys at the nanometer scale.
