L’UMI 2958 ouvre ses portes dans le cadre de la Fête de la science 2009. mercredi 18 novembre, 14h-18h
Les visiteurs seront amenés à rencontrer les chercheurs et découvrirons leurs laboratoires. Des démonstrations scientifiques autour du thème “nanotechnologies et cryptage de l’information” seront proposées.

An NSF grant for chaos-based communications

A $330,000 NSF grant was awarded for the period 2009-2011. It will fund Prof. Citrin’s and Dr. Locquet’s research on multiplexed optical chaos-based communications.

14th International MetalOrganic Vapor Phase Epitaxy Conference

The 14th International MetalOrganic Vapor Phase Epitaxy Conference took place in Metz between 1st and 6th june 2008. This conference is one of the famous conference for MOVPE which occurs every two years.
The organization was done by Pr Abdallah Ougazzaden, who is the Director of the laboratory : Unité Mixte Internationale Georgia Tech-CNRS (UMI2958).

GT-LORRAINE Receives 2 More ANR Grants in 2007

In the first project (GABORE), Prof. A. Ougazzaden is leading a team that will explore epitaxy of coumpound semiconductors of the (III-B)-N type.
In the second project (Nanocrystals) a team of researchers lead by Prof. Cherkaoui will explore new techniques for multiple scale modeling the mechanical behavior of nanocrystal materials.

GT-LORRAINE receives its first E.U. contract

The European Commission awarded a large research contract to a consortium lead by Philips Applied Technologies (Netherlands) in the area of nanosciences, nanotechnologies and materials (FP7-NMP-2007). The project title is “Knowledge-based multi-scale modeling of metal-oxide polymer interface behaviour for micro- and nanoelectronics”.
