Research Areas
The research conducted at the GT-CNRS UMI 2958 is focused within two main themes: secure networks and innovative materials.
Research within the secure networks theme is concentrated on optical communication based on chaos dynamics in optoelectronic components, quantum cryptography, and ultra-rapid optical communication. These specific fields of research find their application in information security.
The research theme of innovative materials consists of research activities in the development of new optical and electronic components as one part, and of research activities in the development of multifunctional materials and ultrasonic material characterization as a second part.
These areas of research also fall within the domain of nanotechnology and intelligent materials. The goal is to establish new basic technologies in design, processing, characterization, and modeling. Ultimately, the results should have a number of high-tech industrial applications in the aeronautic, automobile, biomedical, and energy sectors.
